Yes? No? Yes and no? Don't know. My frustration with MBTI questionnaires.

I tried doing another MBTI test recently but I quickly gave up.  I don't have a simple yes or no for most of the questions; for some I do, for others it's maybe or sometimes yes, or that I'm changing from yes to no, or I simply don't know.

Here are some questions I looked at so you can see what I mean.

Do you feel at ease in a crowd?
That depends on so many levels, so yes and no.
You are almost never late for your appointments.
I can at least say a firm yes to this question.
You are more interested in a general idea than in the details of its realization.
I just don't know, depends on how much I like the idea I guess.
You trust reason rather than feelings.
This is a dumb question, everybody needs to use both, e.g. you can't just "reason" whether you should marry someone.
You are more inclined to experiment than to follow familiar approaches.
What context? Probably not in the past but I want to experiment more now.
You are always looking for opportunities.
Before the answer was no but now I'm changing.
You are a person somewhat reserved and distant in communication.
Yes and no depending on my mood.
You usually plan your actions in advance.
Yes, but it depends on the situation.
You prefer to act immediately rather than speculate about various options.
No.
It is in your nature to assume responsibility.
Before definitely no but I'm growing and changing.
You avoid being bound by obligations.
No but I'm changing.
You get bored if you have to read theoretical books.
Depends on how interested I am in the subject matter.
You frequently and easily express your feelings and emotions.
Yes and no, I'm getting better at this.
You easily empathize with the concerns of other people.
I was used to be bad at this but I'm getting better so I'm somewhere in between.
You try to stand firmly by your principles.
Which principles?  If I believe in them strongly enough then yes.
As a rule, current preoccupations worry you more than your future plans.
Yes but I want to plan more so I may become a no.
You are consistent in your habits.
Yes, aren't most people?
When solving a problem you consider the rational approach to be the best.
I don't know, probably.
You often spend time thinking of how things could be improved.
Sometimes.
You take pleasure in putting things in order.
Yes and no - the question needs to be more specific.
You like to be engaged in an active and fast-paced job.
Sometimes, I don't like a job to be busy all the time.
The process of searching for a solution is more important to you than the solution itself.
Both are important.

So you can see my problem with these questions that only allow us to be x or y, not x and y, or sometimes x sometimes y, or changing from x to y.    People aren't black and white, they are complex and sometimes full of contradictions and that's why this test doesn't work, not for me anyway
